PROJECT BUDGET
The current budget for all aspects of the Multiplex is $61,287,116.
PROJECT FUNDING
The Multiplex project will be a true investment - yielding
tremendous return in both the community's health, a larger
community tax base and increased economic activity.
Multiplex financing will come from four sources:
The City of Moose Jaw...................................$24,754,719
The Province of Saskatchewan......................$11,532,397
Gov't of Canada and Province of Sask. (BCP)$15,000,000
Community Fundraising.................................$10,000,000
Total..............................................................$61,287,116
ONGOING OPERATION
Responsibility for funding ongoing operation of the Multiplex
facilities will rest with the City of Moose Jaw. The Multiplex
facilities will operate efficiently because facility design
materials and building efficiencies, which potentially may
include geothermal heating, will help keep operating and maintenance
costs low. The structures will be far more energy efficient
than those buildings the Multiplex will replace. Typically,
venues like the Multiplex provide excellent marketing opportunities
for businesses. This new facility will attract additional marketing
revenue that will better support the operational costs of the
facility.

SOURCES OF FUTURE REVENUE
An extensive marketing plan will help capitalize on expected
outside interest from concert promoters, sports organizations,
business groups, etc. that seek a flexible, large-sized venue
for their activities. Independent consultants estimate that
some 120–150 outside events could be accommodated each
year.
The Multiplex facilities will be designed with revenue generation
in mind and will have significant potential. They will be ideal
for:
• business, cultural and entertainment events
• tournaments
• exhibitions
• conferences
• trade shows
• agricultural and industrial fairs
• social gatherings
There will be opportunities for local school and community
groups, including sport and service clubs, Métis and
Aboriginal organizations and nonprofit groups, and businesses
to use the facility on a cost-recovery basis.
AUDIENCE/CUSTOMER AREA
The Multiplex facilities are designed to serve the residents
of Moose Jaw and the surrounding rural community — as
well as those living in Regina
— in addition to people in Western Canada and beyond
who will visit the city to take part in sports and entertainment
events offered at the venue. This broad service area extends
the potential for revenue generation to offset operating costs.
The immediate market area is 260,000 people, roughly 25% of
the province’s population, and estimated visitorship
is 300,000 more.
